Kentucky High School Softball - Blazer holds off Belfry
April 13, 2024: Ashland, KY 41102 Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Blazer Tomcats (Ashland, KY) and the visiting Belfry Pirates (Belfry, KY), witnessed Blazer's softball squad tip Belfry by a count of 7-5.
The Tomcats now sport a 5-5 record. They play next when they host Boyd County for a District 64 match on Tuesday, April 16. Blazer will face a Lions squad coming off a 14-5 non-league loss to Notre Dame (Portsmouth, OH). The Lions record now stands at 8-9.
With the loss, Belfry moves to 6-5 on the season. The Pirates travel to Phelps (Phelps, KY) to face the Hornets in a District 60 match on Monday, April 15. The Hornets go into the match with a record of 1-11. Phelps lost 12-3 in their recent non-league match against Tolsia (Fort Gay, WV)
