The crowd at Monday's non-league battle between the Patrick County Cougars (Stuart, VA) and the host Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA), saw Patrick County's baseball team beat Halifax County by a margin of 6-4.

The Cougars (5-4) will now prepare for their battle against Glenvar (Salem, VA). The Highlanders enter the Three Rivers battle with a 6-3 record. In their last battle, Glenvar held off Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA), 11-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Comets face the Mecklenburg County Phoenix (Baskerville, VA) in a battle, on Tuesday, April 14. Halifax County will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record. The Phoenix enter the battle with a 2-5 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to Nottoway (Nottoway, VA).
