Illinois High School Softball - St. Anthony bounces Salem
April 13, 2026: Effingham, IL 62401 The St. Anthony Bulldogs softball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting Salem Wildcats to 5 in the Bulldogs non-league win on Monday.
The Bulldogs now sport a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Newton for a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 14. St. Anthony will confront a Eagles team coming off a 10-9 league win over Richland County (Olney, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 9-4.
With the loss, Salem moves to 2-12 on the season. The Wildcats travel to East Alton-Wood River (Wood River, IL) to confront the Oilers in a Cahokia - Mississippi battle on Tuesday, April 14. The Oilers come into the battle with a record of 5-7. East Alton-Wood River won 4-2 in their recent non-league battle against Carlinville (Carlinville, IL)
