Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Southwestern Warriors (Somerset, KY), 9-4 in a non-league test.

With the win, Russell County upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Lakers host Barren County (Glasgow, KY) to battle the Trojans in a non-league test on Saturday, April 15. The Trojans come into the test with a record of 8-9. Barren County lost 10-7 in their recent non-league test against Taylor County (Campbellsville, KY)

With the defeat, Southwestern falls to 7-9 on the season. The Warriors travel to Wayne County (Monticello, KY) to battle the Cardinals in a District 48 test on Monday, April 17. The Cardinals come into the test with a record of 7-7. Wayne County lost 12-2 in their recent non-league test against Lincoln County (Stanford, KY)
