Faith Christian Eagles (Lafayette, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Fountain Central Mustangs (Veedersburg, IN), 9-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they host Carroll for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 17. Faith Christian will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 13-7 league win over Frontier (Chalmers, IN). The Cougars record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Fountain Central falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to North Vermillion (Cayuga, IN) to battle the Falcons in a Wabash River challenge on Saturday, April 15. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 1-7. North Vermillion lost 27-2 in their recent non-league challenge against West Vigo (West Terre Haute, IN)
