The Pike Central Chargers nipped the host East Central Trojans softball squad by a final score of 9-8 in Saturday's non-league battle.

The Chargers (7-1) will now prepare for their battle against Heritage Hills (Lincoln City, IN). The Patriots go into the Pocket battle with a 7-1 record. In their last battle, Heritage Hills held off Boonville (Boonville, IN), 4-3, in a league battle.

The Trojans now possess a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to Franklin County for a Eastern Indiana battle on Monday, April 17. East Central will confront a Wildcats squad coming off a 15-2 non-league win over Union County (Liberty, IN). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-0.
