Connecticut High School Softball - Newtown bounces Pomperaug
April 15, 2024: Southbury, CT 06488 Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT), 13-1 in a league challenge.
The Nighthawks now own a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they host Bethel for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 17. Newtown will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 9-2 league loss to Notre Dame Catholic (Fairfield, CT). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-2.
With the loss, Pomperaug falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to New Fairfield (New Fairfield, CT) to battle the Rebels in a Southwest - Colonial challenge on Wednesday, April 17. The Rebels enter the challenge with a record of 2-2.
