Virginia High School Softball - Corning-Painted Post can't get by McLean
April 16, 2025: McLean, VA 22101 McLean Highlanders (McLean, VA) supporters left the game pleased Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Corning-Painted Post Hawks (Corning, NY), 2-1 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, McLean improves its record to 10-0 on the year. The Highlanders host Southwestern (Jamestown, NY) to play the Trojans in a non-league game on Thursday, April 17. The Trojans enter the game with a record of 0-3.
The Hawks now hold a 4-1 record. They play next when they host Horseheads for a Section 4 Southern Tier - West game on Monday, April 21. Corning-Painted Post will play a Blue Raiders squad coming off a 7-1 non-league loss to James Madison (Vienna, VA). The Blue Raiders record now stands at 3-2.
