The crowd at Thursday's non-league battle between the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) and the host Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA), saw Giles's baseball team gain a win over Craig County by a tally of 11-1.

The Spartans (3-7) will now prepare for their battle against Auburn (Riner, VA). The Eagles enter the Mountain Empire battle with a 12-1 record. In their last battle, Auburn prevailed over William Byrd (Vinton, VA), 9-4, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Rockets face the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs (Elliston, VA) in a Pioneer battle, on Tuesday, April 22. Craig County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Mustangs enter the battle with a 8-2 record after their 9-2 non-league win over Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA).
