The Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT) baseball got by the host Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT), 9-8 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gilbert for a Berkshire challenge on Monday, April 21. Shepaug Valley will clash with a Yellowjackets team coming off a 14-2 league loss to Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 0-1.

With the defeat, Pomperaug drops to 0-5 on the year. The Panthers travel to Abbott RVT (Danbury, CT) to clash with the Wolverines in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 19.
