April 18, 2022: Winfield, AL 35594 Winfield Pirates (Winfield, AL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Hayden Wildcats (Hayden, AL), 5-4 in a non-league test.
With the win, Winfield upgrades its record to 22-14 on the season. The Pirates host Sumiton Christian (Sumiton, AL) to battle the Eagles in a 1A Area 11 test on Tuesday, April 19. With the defeat, Hayden falls to 17-11 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Boaz (Boaz, AL) to battle the Pirates in a non-league test on Friday, April 22. The Pirates come into the test with a record of 20-10. Boaz lost 6-2 in their recent non-league test against Grissom (Huntsville, AL)
