In Thursday's non-league contest, the Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN) softball team held off the visiting Wheeler Bearcats (Valparaiso, IN), by a margin of 3-2.

With the triumph, Kankakee Valley moves its record to 5-4 on the year. The Kougars travel to Hanover Central (Cedar Lake, IN) to play the Wildcats in a Northwest Crossroads contest on Friday, April 19. The Wildcats come into the contest with a record of 6-3. Hanover Central won 12-3 in their recent league contest against Lowell (Lowell, IN)

In their next game, the Bearcats play the River Forest Ingots (Hobart, IN) in a Greater South Shore contest, on Monday, April 22. Wheeler will attempt to move on its 3-3 season record.
