April 18, 2025: Newton, IA 50208 The Newton Cardinals soccer squad scored 2 points and held the visiting Boone Toreadors to 1 in the Cardinals non-league victory on Friday.
The Cardinals now possess a 4-4 record. They play next when they host Ballard for a non-league bout on Tuesday, April 22. Newton will play a Bombers squad coming off a 2-0 league win over Winterset (Winterset, IA). The Bombers record now stands at 7-5.
With the loss, Boone moves to 2-1 on the year. The Toreadors host Gilbert (Gilbert, IA) to play the Tigers in a Raccoon River bout on Tuesday, April 22. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-0.
