In Friday's non-league match, the host Perry Meridian Falcons softball team scored a tight 5-3 victory over the Southport Cardinals.

With the triumph, Perry Meridian improves its record to 4-5 on the year. The Falcons host Mooresville (Mooresville, IN) to face the Pioneers in a Mid-State contest on Tuesday, April 22. The Pioneers enter the contest with a record of 7-3. Mooresville won 8-3 in their recent non-league contest against Monrovia (Monrovia, IN)

The Cardinals now hold a 3-4 record. They play next when they travel to Decatur Central for a non-league contest on Saturday, April 19. Southport will face a Hawks squad coming off a 4-2 league loss to Mooresville (Mooresville, IN). The Hawks record now stands at 3-4.
