Valley Center Hornets (Valley Center, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Goddard Lions (Goddard, KS), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Andover for a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division II challenge on Friday, April 22.

With the loss, Goddard falls to 8-2 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Andover Central (Andover, KS) to battle the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 29. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 5-2.
