The Mt. Vernon Marauders routed the host New Castle Trojans softball squad by a count of 12-1 in Wednesday's league battle.

The Marauders (5-6) will now prepare for their battle against New Palestine (New Palestine, IN). The Dragons go into the Hoosier Heritage battle with a 6-2 record. In their last battle, New Palestine topped Yorktown (Yorktown, IN), 12-6, in a league battle.

The Trojans now sport a 2-8 record. They play next when they host Wapahani for a non-league battle on Friday, April 21. New Castle will meet a Raiders squad coming off a 15-3 league loss to Eastern Hancock (Charlottesville, IN). The Raiders record now stands at 5-4.
