Myrtle Hawks (Myrtle, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Alcorn Central Bears (Glen, MS), 6-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Walnut for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. Myrtle will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 9-4 league loss to Pine Grove (Ripley, MS). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-10.

With the loss, Alcorn Central falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Mantachie (Mantachie, MS) to face the Mustangs in a 2A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 16-4. Mantachie won 18-4 in their recent non-league challenge against New Site (New Site, MS)
