West Virginia High School Baseball - Wellsville gets by Independence
April 2, 2024: Coal City, WV 25823 Wellsville Lions (Wellsville, NY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV), 20-18 in a non-league test.
With the win, Wellsville upgrades its record to 4-0 on the season. The Lions travel to Clarke County (Berryville, VA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league test on Tuesday, April 2. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 3-0. Clarke County won 10-0 in their recent league test against Rappahannock County (Washington, VA)
With the defeat, Independence falls to 1-4 on the season. The Patriots host Midland Trail (Hico, WV) to battle the Patriots in a Coalfield AA test on Tuesday, April 9. The Patriots come into the test with a record of 3-5.
