The crowd at Wednesday's non-league battle between the South Iredell Vikings (Statesville, NC) and the visiting Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), saw South Iredell's baseball team beat Mallard Creek by a margin of 5-1.

The Vikings (10-4) will now prepare for their battle against Lake Norman (Mooresville, NC). The Wildcats enter the Greater Metro 4A battle with a 11-5 record. In their last battle, Lake Norman held off Palisades (Charlotte, NC), 6-2, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Mavericks face the Harding University Rams (Charlotte, NC) in a Queen City 3A/4A battle, on Friday, April 4. Mallard Creek will attempt to improve on its 4-9 season record. The Rams enter the battle with a 0-6 record after their 22-1 league loss to Chambers (Charlotte, NC).
