North Carolina High School Softball - Freedom drops to Madison

Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad topple the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 14-2 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Madison improves its record to 6-3 on the year. The Patriots travel to Draughn (Valdese, NC) to face the Wildcats in a Western Highlands 1A/2A game on Tuesday, April 8. The Wildcats enter the game with a record of 10-3. Draughn lost 11-1 in their recent league game against Owen (Black Mountain, NC)

The Patriots now hold a 5-11 record. They play next when they travel to Hibriten for a Northwestern 3A/4A game on Friday, April 4. Freedom will face a Panthers squad coming off a 32-0 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 10-4.
