In Thursday's non-league bout, the Alcorn Central Golden Bears (Glen, MS) baseball squad overwhelmed the host Hickory Flat Rebels (Hickory Flat, MS), by a tally of 14-0.

Next up, the Golden Bears encounter the McNairy Central Bobcats (Selmer, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, April 3. Alcorn Central will attempt to better on its 13-8 season record. The Bobcats go into the challenge with a 4-8 record after their 5-4 non-league loss to Wayne County (Waynesboro, TN).

With the defeat, Hickory Flat drops to 5-13 on the year. The Rebels host Potts Camp (Potts Camp, MS) to encounter the Cardinals in a 1A Region 2 bout on Tuesday, April 7.
