April 20, 2024: Sweeny, TX 77480 Sweeny Bulldogs (Sweeny, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX), 11-0 in a non-league contest.
Coming up next, the Bulldogs play the Stafford Spartans (Stafford, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 26 contest, on Tuesday, April 23. Sweeny will attempt to better on its 19-7 season record. The Spartans enter the contest with a 9-10 record after their 9-3 league loss to Columbia (West Columbia, TX).
The Rangers now sport a 24-7 record. They take the field next when they host O'Connor for a non-league contest on Saturday, April 27. Smithson Valley will play a Panthers squad coming off a 6-1 league win over Holmes (San Antonio, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 17-11.
