Match Summary
The other heavyweight appeared in our pool in round 2: the University Wildcats. Set 1 wasn't even close with Uni winning handily on their machine like execution. LBCP's Daniel Ancheta put up a valiant effort with 4 kills in 14 swings for a .286 hitting percentage. Set 2 was a fight. Setter Spencer Donovan found the hot horse in fellow setter Narek Manukyan. Narek terminated 6 of his 9 swings for a stratospheric .667 showing. He also had 6 assists, 6 digs, a block solo, & a block assist. However, it is a team game after all. 1 player is usually not enough to win. The rest of the team hit .000 in set 2. The Cougar defense battled back to rack up total 24 digs but more were needed to stop the University offense. Kennedy & Uni should be the favorites in the deciding pool play match for playoffs. That should be quite the match to see! Overall it was an improvement for Lake Balboa but playing short with only 1 front row middle blocker proved to be too big of a handicap.
