Illinois High School Baseball - Lutheran holds off Springfield Southeast
April 20, 2026: Springfield, IL 62703 The Lutheran Crusaders baseball team scored 13 runs and held the host Springfield Southeast Spartans to 9 in the Crusaders non-league win on Monday.
The Crusaders now own a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they host West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] for a non-league test on Wednesday, April 22. Lutheran will clash with a Cougars team coming off a 8-1 league loss to Routt Catholic (Jacksonville, IL). The Cougars record now stands at 5-10.
With the defeat, Springfield Southeast drops to 2-12 on the year. The Spartans host Springfield (Springfield, IL) to clash with the Springfield in a Central State Eight test on Tuesday, April 21. The Springfield go into the test with a record of 6-9. Springfield lost 18-7 in their recent non-league test against Granite City (Granite City, IL)
