The Marshall Lions baseball squad (Marshall, IL), was overwhelmed 12-2 in Monday's league contest with the host Newton Eagles (Newton, IL)

With the triumph, Newton moves its record to 16-2 on the season. The Eagles travel to Paris (Paris, IL) to confront the Tigers in a Little Illini contest on Thursday, April 23. The Tigers come into the contest with a record of 11-6. Paris won 15-2 in their recent non-league contest against Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine (Oblong, IL)

The Lions now possess a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Vigo for a non-league contest on Tuesday, April 21. Marshall will confront a Vikings squad coming off a 11-8 non-league win over Clay City (Clay City, IN). The Vikings record now stands at 6-2.
