Virginia High School Baseball - Matoaca nipped by Monacan
April 21, 2025: Richmond, VA 23236 Monacan Chiefs (Richmond, VA) fans left the game pleased Monday as they observed their baseball squad nip the visiting Matoaca Warriors (Chesterfield, VA), 6-5 in a non-league match.
With the triumph, Monacan advances its record to 3-4 on the season. The Chiefs host Powhatan (Powhatan, VA) to battle the Indians in a Dominion match on Tuesday, April 22. The Indians come into the match with a record of 5-3. Powhatan won 13-4 in their recent league match against Clover Hill (Midlothian, VA)
The Warriors now have a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Thomas Dale for a Central match on Tuesday, April 22. Matoaca will battle a Knights squad coming off a 15-3 league win over Meadowbrook (Richmond, VA). The Knights record now stands at 4-7.
