The Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds baseball squad (Newport, KY), was overwhelmed 13-4 in Monday's non-league contest with the visiting Walton-Verona Bearcats (Walton, KY)

With the triumph, Walton-Verona moves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Bearcats travel to South Oldham (Crestwood, KY) to confront the Dragons in a non-league contest on Friday, May 2. The Dragons come into the contest with a record of 0-2.

The Thoroughbreds now possess a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cooper for a non-league contest on Monday, April 21.
