Illinois High School Soccer - Sacred Heart-Griffin knocks off Providence Catholic
April 22, 2023: Springfield, IL 62702 Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones (Springfield, IL) fans were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the visiting Providence Catholic Celtics (New Lenox, IL), 4-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Cyclones confront the St. Joseph's Academy Angels (St. Louis, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, April 22. Sacred Heart-Griffin will attempt to better on its 6-6 season record. The Angels enter the challenge with a 16-0 record after their 5-1 non-league win over Kaneland (Maple Park, IL).
The Celtics now have a 5-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rochester for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 22. Providence Catholic will confront a Rockets team coming off a 4-1 non-league win over Belleville West (Belleville, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 11-1.
