New York High School Softball - Thousand Islands nudges Hammond Central
April 22, 2023: Clayton, NY 13624 Thousand Islands Vikings (Clayton, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hammond Central Red Devils (Hammond, NY), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Vikings now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Sackets Harbor Central for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 24. Thousand Islands will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 13-7 non-league win over Beaver River (Beaver Falls, NY). The Patriots record now stands at 3-1.
With the loss, Hammond Central falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Red devils travel to Harrisville (Harrisville, NY) to battle the Pirates in a Section 10 West challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Harrisville won 4-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Lyme Central (Chaumont, NY)
