Illinois High School Softball - Olympia holds off Marion
April 22, 2023: Marion, IL 62959 Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Marion Wildcats (Marion, IL), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.
The Spartans now own a 13-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mt. Zion for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 22. Olympia will face a Braves squad coming off a 13-3 league win over Mattoon (Mattoon, IL). The Braves record now stands at 15-2.
With the loss, Marion falls to 15-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to McCracken County (Paducah, KY) to face the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 24. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 18-3. McCracken County won 16-9 in their recent non-league challenge against Montgomery County (Mt. Sterling, KY)
