In Friday's non-league challenge, the El Capitan Gauchos (Merced, CA) baseball squad triumphed over the visiting Hilmar Yellowjackets (Hilmar, CA), by a final score of 8-0.

With the win, El Capitan upgrades its record to 4-0 on the season. The Gauchos travel to Buhach Colony (Atwater, CA) to encounter the Thunder in a Central California Conference challenge on Wednesday, April 28. The Thunder come into the challenge with a record of 2-1. Buhach Colony won 9-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Central Catholic (Modesto, CA)

With the defeat, Hilmar falls to 0-1 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Fresno (Fresno, CA) to encounter the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 1. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 7-5.
