North Carolina High School Softball - Burns topped by Draughn
April 24, 2024: Valdese, NC 28690 The Draughn Wildcats softball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Burns Bulldogs to 0 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Wednesday.
With the triumph, Draughn moves its record to 15-5 on the year. The Wildcats host McDowell (Marion, NC) to play the Titans in a non-league game on Monday, April 29. The Titans come into the game with a record of 12-5. McDowell won 7-0 in their recent league game against Asheville (Asheville, NC)
In their next game, the Bulldogs play the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A game, on Friday, April 26. Burns will attempt to move on its 7-9 season record. The Golden Lions come into the game with a 9-5 record after their 10-0 league loss to Burns (Lawndale, NC).
