Illinois High School Softball - Manteno bounces Shepard
April 24, 2024: Palos Heights, IL 60463 Manteno Panthers (Manteno, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL), 13-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Panthers now own a 21-0 record. They take the field next when they host Neuqua Valley for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 27. Manteno will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 5-4 league win over Waubonsie Valley (Aurora, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-10.
With the loss, Shepard falls to 11-5 on the campaign. The Astros host Thornton Fractional South (Lansing, IL) to face the Red Wolves in a South Suburban - Blue challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Red Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 6-13. Thornton Fractional South won 19-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park (Chicago, IL)
