The Shelton Gaels softball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Ansonia Chargers to 1 in the Gaels non-league win on Friday.

The Gaels now sport a 4-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mercy for a non-league battle on Monday, April 27. Shelton will confront a Tigers team coming off a 12-0 non-league win over North Haven (North Haven, CT). The Tigers record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Ansonia moves to 5-5 on the season. The Chargers travel to Wilby (Waterbury, CT) to confront the Wildcats in a Naugatuck Valley - Brass battle on Wednesday, April 29. The Wildcats come into the battle with a record of 0-6.
