Washington High School Soccer - Lakewood overwhelmed by Mount Vernon
April 25, 2023: Arlington, WA 98223 The crowd at Tuesday's league test between the Mount Vernon Bulldogs (Mount Vernon, WA) and the host Lakewood Cougars (Arlington, WA), saw Mount Vernon's soccer squad triumph over Lakewood by a count of 7-0.
The Bulldogs now hold a 5-0 record. They play next when they travel to Oak Harbor for a non-league test on Thursday, April 27. Mount Vernon will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-4.
With the loss, Lakewood drops to 0-5 on the season. The Cougars travel to Ferndale (Ferndale, WA) to meet the Golden Eagles in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest test on Thursday, April 27. The Golden Eagles come into the test with a record of 2-5. Ferndale won 6-0 in their recent league test against Nooksack Valley (Everson, WA)
