Illinois High School Baseball - Southwestern gets by Metro-East Lutheran

April 25, 2024: Edwardsville, IL 62025

Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL), 4-2 in a non-league test.

With the win, Southwestern upgrades its record to 19-5 on the season. The Piasa Birds travel to Gillespie (Gillespie, IL) to battle the Miners in a non-league test on Saturday, April 27. The Miners come into the test with a record of 16-7. Gillespie won 6-2 in their recent league test against Pana (Pana, IL)

With the defeat, Metro-East Lutheran falls to 10-8 on the season. The Knights travel to Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL) to battle the Spartans in a non-league test on Wednesday, May 1. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 7-10.
