In Saturday's non-league match, the host Robinson Maroons softball team scored a tight 6-1 victory over the Gillespie Miners.

The Maroons (16-7) will now prepare for their match against Edwards County (Albion, IL). The Lions go into the non-league match with a 14-5 record. In their last match, Edwards County was routed by Hamilton County (McLeansboro, IL), 12-9, in a league match.

In their next game, the Miners battle the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) in a South Central match, on Tuesday, April 28. Gillespie will attempt to better on its 17-7 season record. The Piasa Birds go into the match with a 11-7 record after their 21-1 league win over North Mac (Virden, IL).
