Ohio High School Baseball - Fairless can't hold off Chippewa
April 26, 2021: Doylestown, OH 44230 In Monday's non-league game, the host Chippewa Chipps baseball team scored a tight 3-2 victory over the Fairless Falcons.
The Chipps (1-4) will now prepare for their game against Rittman (Rittman, OH). The Indians go into the Wayne County game with a 0-4 record. In their last game, Rittman was edged by Waynedale (Apple Creek, OH), 12-2, in a league game.
The Falcons (4-12) will now prepare for their game against East Canton (East Canton, OH). The Hornets go into the non-league game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, East Canton was edged by Strasburg-Franklin (Strasburg, OH), 11-5, in a league game.
Game Summary
The Falcons lost a heartbreaker on Monday night out at Chippewa. The Falcons rallied in the 7th to score two runs aided by perfect bunts by Zach Taylor and Ethan Godwin, and a steal of home by Zach Taylor to grab the 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the 7th. Unfortunately, Chippewa rallied for two runs of their own to steal the game away from Fairless. The loss drops the Falcons overall record to 4-12. They will travel to East Canton Tuesday night to take on the Hornets.
