April 26, 2024: Covington, VA 24426 In Friday's league outing, the host Alleghany Cougars softball team scored a close 8-3 win over the James River Knights.
Coming up next, the Cougars battle the Radford Bobcats (Radford, VA) in a Three Rivers outing, on Monday, April 29. Alleghany will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Bobcats enter the outing with a 5-8 record after their 8-5 league loss to Patrick County (Stuart, VA).
The Knights (3-7) will now prepare for their outing against Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Cavaliers enter the Three Rivers outing with a 13-1 record. In their last outing, Carroll County tipped Floyd County (Floyd, VA), 3-2, in a league outing.
