In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) baseball squad edged the host Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC), by a final score of 4-3.

With the win, North Stanly upgrades its record to 19-1 on the season. The Comets travel to Union Academy (Monroe, NC) to encounter the Cardinals in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge on Friday, April 29. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 13-6. Union Academy lost 13-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Pine Lake Prep (Mooresville, NC)
