The Sandia Matadors routed the visiting West Las Vegas Dons softball squad by a final score of 17-2 in Wednesday's non-league battle.

The Matadors (12-10) will now prepare for their battle against West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM). The Mustangs go into the 5A District 2 battle with a 12-10 record. In their last battle, West Mesa topped Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM), 18-8, in a league battle.

The Dons now possess a 11-10 record. They play next when they host Santa Fe Indian for a 3A District 2 battle on Saturday, April 30. West Las Vegas will meet a Braves squad coming off a 16-1 league loss to Robertson (Las Vegas, NM). The Braves record now stands at 14-9.
