Spectators at Thursday's non-league battle between the Montour Spartans (McKees Rocks, PA) and the visiting Moon Area Tigers (Moon Township, PA), saw Montour's baseball squad edge Moon Area by a margin of 5-4.

Coming up next, the Spartans play the Central Valley Warriors (Monaca, PA) in a WPIAL 4A 1 battle, on Monday, May 1. Montour will attempt to better on its 14-2 season record. The Warriors enter the battle with a 5-9 record after their 10-0 non-league loss to Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA).

The Tigers now sport a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they host New Castle for a WPIAL 5A 3 battle on Monday, May 1. Moon Area will play a Hurricanes squad coming off a 4-2 non-league win over Champion (Warren, OH). The Hurricanes record now stands at 4-9.
