Ohio High School Softball - Mathews bounces Newton Falls
April 27, 2023: Newton Falls, OH 44444 Mathews Mustangs (Vienna, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Newton Falls Tigers (Newton Falls, OH), 14-4 in a non-league challenge.
The Mustangs now own a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Harding for a Northeastern Athletic challenge on Saturday, April 29. Mathews will face a Skippers squad coming off a 7-2 league loss to St. John (Ashtabula, OH). The Skippers record now stands at 0-8.
With the loss, Newton Falls falls to 1-16 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Memorial (Campbell, OH) to face the Red Devils in a Mahoning Valley Athletic - Grey challenge on Monday, May 1. The Red Devils enter the challenge with a record of 9-11. Memorial won 11-5 in their recent non-league challenge against McKinley (Niles, OH)
