Indiana High School Softball - Bremen bounces Jimtown
April 28, 2021: Bremen, IN 46506 The Bremen Lions routed the visiting Jimtown Jimmies softball squad by a count of 14-5 in Wednesday's league battle.
The Lions (6-5) will now prepare for their battle against Triton (Bourbon, IN). The Trojans go into the non-league battle with a 3-7 record. In their last battle, Triton was routed by North Miami (Denver, IN), 16-0, in a non-league battle.
The Jimmies now sport a 4-7 record. They play next when they travel to Mishawaka Marian for a Northern Indiana battle on Saturday, May 1. Jimtown will meet a Knights squad coming off a 4-1 league loss to South Bend St. Joseph (South Bend, IN). The Knights record now stands at 2-4.
Game Summary
After leading 6-3 on Tuesday before the rains came, the Bremen Girls Softball team finished the job on Friday posting a 14-5 win at Bremen's Pfeffer Field.
Jaylin Swint inherited a 1 ball, 2 strike, 1 out count with based loaded & proceeded to hit a double off the 3B bag giving the Lions an 8-3 lead.
The Jimmies added 2 in the top of the 5th, but no more. The Lady Lions added 2 in the 4th & 4 runs in the 5th to end the scoring at 14.
Hanna Depoy had a pair of hits for the Lions, as did Naomi Flores. Ellia Foster added double & had 3RBI. Swint's double added 2 runs.
The Lady Lions travel to New Prairie on Monday & Penn on Wednesday.
