Illinois High School Baseball - Southwestern gets by Metro-East Lutheran

April 28, 2022: Edwardsville, IL 62025

Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL), 2-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Southwestern upgrades its record to 14-9 on the season. The Piasa Birds travel to Staunton (Staunton, IL) to battle the Bulldogs in a South Central test on Friday, April 29. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 5-9. Staunton lost 3-1 in their recent league test against Litchfield (Litchfield, IL)

With the defeat, Metro-East Lutheran falls to 1-14 on the season. The Knights travel to Bunker Hill (Bunker Hill, IL) to battle the Minutemen in a Gateway Metro test on Friday, April 29. The Minutemen come into the test with a record of 1-9. Bunker Hill lost 4-0 in their recent non-league test against Gillespie (Gillespie, IL)
