Valley View Cougars (Archbald, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Old Forge Blue Devils (Old Forge, PA), 9-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they host Scranton Prep for a Lackawanna 1 challenge on Sunday, May 1. Valley View will face a Cavaliers squad coming off a 10-7 league loss to Abington Heights (Clarks Summit, PA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, Old Forge falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Greater Nanticoke Area (Nanticoke, PA) to face the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 30. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Greater Nanticoke Area won 5-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Wyoming Valley West (Plymouth, PA)
