In Friday's non-league game, the host Hopewell Vikings baseball team scored a tight 12-6 victory over the Riverside Panthers.

The Vikings (10-3) will now prepare for their game against Freedom Area (Freedom, PA). The Bulldogs go into the WPIAL 3A 1 game with a 0-10 record. In their last game, Freedom Area was overwhelmed by Valley (New Kensington, PA), 9-3, in a non-league game.

The Panthers (12-2) will now prepare for their game against Laurel (New Castle, PA). The Spartan go into the WPIAL 2A 2 game with a 8-3 record. In their last game, Laurel was overwhelmed by Lincoln (Ellwood City, PA), 8-7, in a non-league game.
