Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) fans left the game pleased Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the visiting Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), 7-0 in a league match.

With the triumph, Auburn advances its record to 15-1 on the season. The Eagles travel to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA) to battle the Maroons in a Mountain Empire match on Thursday, May 1. The Maroons come into the match with a record of 3-7. George Wythe won 20-11 in their recent league match against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA)

The Pioneers now have a 10-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Giles for a Mountain Empire match on Wednesday, April 30. Fort Chiswell will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 14-0 league win over Galax (Galax, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 4-8.
