In Thursday's non-league game, the host McGuffey Highlanders baseball team scored a close 10-9 victory over the Fort Cherry Rangers.

The Highlanders (4-3) will now prepare for their game against Charleroi (Charleroi, PA). The Cougars enter the WPIAL 3A 4 game with a 4-1 record. In their last game, Charleroi held off Seton LaSalle (Pittsburgh, PA), 2-1, in a league game.

Next, the Rangers face the Frazier Commodores (Perryopolis, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 1 game, on Monday, April 7. Fort Cherry will attempt to improve on its 3-4 season record. The Commodores enter the game with a 4-2 record after their 13-8 non-league loss to Carmichaels (Carmichaels, PA).
