In Friday's non-league game, the host Boaz Pirates softball squad scored a close 5-1 triumph over the Gibbs Eagles.

With the triumph, Boaz upgrades its record to 20-4 on the year. The Pirates travel to Sardis (Boaz, AL) to play the Lions in a 5A Area 13 game on Tuesday, April 7. The Lions enter the game with a record of 6-11. Sardis 5-5 in their recent non-league game against North Jackson (Stevenson, AL)

The Eagles now own a 16-6 record. They play next when they travel to Elkmont for a non-league game on Saturday, April 4. Gibbs will confront a Red Devils team coming off a 11-2 non-league loss to Lincoln County (Fayetteville, TN). The Red Devils record now stands at 7-9.
